Jangsu County has officially addressed rumors that Girls' Generation member Taeyeon would be performing at the upcoming 'Hanwoo and Apple Festival,' stating that she was never confirmed for the event.

In a public statement released on July 15, the county said, “Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation was considered as a candidate for the opening performance, but the booking ultimately fell through.”
The county further explained, “A draft version of the poster and the performer list was leaked externally, which may have caused confusion. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may have caused.”
They also pledged to take corrective measures: “We will reinforce our event management processes and thoroughly review the performer lineup to prevent such incidents from recurring.”
Speculation over Taeyeon’s appearance began after a poster image circulated in online communities, suggesting she would headline the celebratory concert on September 19 as part of the 2025 'Hanwoo and Apple Festival.' The poster included her name and image, sparking excitement among fans.
The original post claimed the information was verified directly with the relevant department, reinforcing the belief that the K-pop star would attend. However, her agency quickly denied this. SM Entertainment stated, “Taeyeon is not scheduled to perform at the 'Jangsu festival' and has never received an offer. We ask fans not to be misled.”
The confusion is believed to stem from a case of mistaken identity involving another singer with the same name. Trot singer Kim Taeyeon was reportedly set to appear at the event, although Jangsu County has yet to comment on her participation.
The '2025 Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival' is scheduled to take place from September 18 to 21 at Uiam Park and Jangsu Nuri Park.
