EPEX has returned after eight months, releasing their third full-length album, 'Prelude of Youth Chapter 3: Romantic Youth', on July 28th KST through major online music platforms. This release marks the conclusion of the group’s youth-themed trilogy.
The trilogy began with 'Prelude of Youth Chapter 1: Youth Days' in April 2023, followed by 'Chapter 2: Youth and Brokenness' in November. While the second installment explored the emotions of lacking and longing, the final chapter embraces that sense of incompleteness, capturing a moment of awakening and the romanticism of youth.
The title track, “Thank You for the Tears,” expresses a mature acceptance of farewell. Blending delicate vocals from EPEX members with pop-acoustic melodies and subtle rock elements, the track delivers a deep emotional resonance. The song’s gradually intensifying arrangement and lyrical sentiment create a comforting yet addictive listening experience.
Entirely composed and written in Korean, “Thank You for the Tears” highlights EPEX’s signature refreshing tone. The accompanying music video, released simultaneously with the digital album, showcases the members’ heartfelt expressions, likened to summer rain. Fans can look forward to a performance that balances wistful emotion with vibrant energy.
The album features a total of eight tracks:
- “Picasso,” a pre-release song about bold desire
- “Nothing Happened,” which conveys inner strength
- “Overflowing Romance” and “Pluto,” portraying the spirit of challenge in energetic and fearless ways
- “Dancing with Wolves,” a playful track featuring witty lyrics and rhythmic rap
- “Starry Night,” known for its sincerity and beautiful harmonies
- “Whale Fall,” which reflects the value of every moment in youth
Since their debut in 2021, EPEX has released six mini albums and three full-length albums, showcasing an unusually consistent and prolific output. The group has steadily built a distinctive musical identity and universe, especially through its ongoing conceptual series—leaving a strong impression on fans worldwide. With Prelude of Youth Chapter 3: Romantic Youth, anticipation grows for the next stage in EPEX’s expanding global career.
EPEX’s third full-length album is now available on all major streaming platforms as of 6 PM on July 28th.
In addition, EPEX will hold their third solo fan concert, ROMANTIC YOUTH, on August 23rd and 24th at KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, followed by a performance in Tokyo at Zepp DiverCity on August 26th.
