Actor Jin Seon Kyu's agency warned about social media impersonation scams.
On July 28, L'July Entertainment stated, "We have received reports of damage caused by social media accounts impersonating Jin Seon Kyu and sending direct messages." According to the agency, a fake social media account posing as Jin Seon Kyu was recently created, and the impersonator attempted to initiate contact and induce financial transactions.
A representative explained, "Jin Seon Kyu is currently not active on any social media platform other than Instagram. Likewise, our company only operates official accounts on Instagram and X."
They urged online users to be cautious of such scams and emphasized, "Company staff and affiliated actors do not personally contact individuals or make financial requests." The agency added, "We sincerely ask fans to be especially cautious so that no one becomes a victim of money demands or other damages caused by accounts impersonating Jin Seon Kyu."
The agency also stated they are planning to take strong legal actions against the impersonation and said, "We will continue close monitoring to prevent any harm, and if necessary, we will take legal action."
Meanwhile, Jin Seon Kyu is set to appear in Netflix's 'Aema,' premiering on August 22. The drama portrays the birth of the 1980s film 'Madame Aema,' with Jin Seon Kyu taking on the role of producer Gu Jung Ho.
Later this year, Netflix will also release 'The Price of Confession,' a crime psychological thriller, where Jin Seon Kyu will transform into lawyer Jang Jung Gu, showcasing an even deeper level of acting.
