On the June 6 broadcast of MBC's 'I Live Alone', NCT's Doyoung visited a hospital to receive his allergy test results.
He revealed, "Some time ago, I was prescribed medicine for a cold. But after taking the medicine, I had a severe allergic reaction and had to go to the emergency room." The K-Pop idol was then tested to verify if he was in fact allergic to cold medicine.
According to the doctor, "You test results have arrived. The test indicates that your white blood cell count was very high that day. That means that your body could have responded to the medicine as if it were an infection. It may have been a reaction caused by stress, or a bodily response similar to when you are exposed to a bacterial infection."
Thankfully, Doyoung's test results showed that he was not allergic to ingredients found in common cold medicines, including penicillin, ampicillin, amoxicillin, cefaclor, or gelatin bovine. The doctor explained, "When your immune system is weakened, you may experience a reaction similar to allergies to things that you normally would not have trouble with."
Next, the doctor explained Doyoung's allergy test results to various foods, plants, and other common allergy-inducing substances. His test indicated a Class 2 allergy to apples, plus a Class 4 allergy to cats, birch trees, and peaches. The doctor advised Doyoung to avoid the substances listed above Class 3, surprising Doyoung.
The idol remarked, "I don't think I've ever experienced any sort of discomfort after eating peaches. So I've just been eating them." He then added on, "But I do remember my throat feeling tingly after eating apples."
Finally, Doyoung's test results also showed elevated IgE (Immunoglobulin E) levels, suggesting a body type prone to allergic reactions, asthmatic reactions, eczema, and other skin infections.
