"I’m bisexual" KATSEYE’s Megan becomes second member to come out in the group

Megan, a member of the multinational girl group KATSEYE, has publicly come out as bisexual.

During a live broadcast on June 6, Megan said, "I want to come out. I’m bisexual." This followed months of speculation among fans about her sexuality, now officially confirmed by Megan herself. Fans quickly showed their support with comments such as "Truly a global group," "Megan came out too," and "Congratulations."

Megan is now the second member of KATSEYE to come out. Back on March 24, fellow member Lara shared on the fan platform Weverse that she is also bisexual. With both Megan and Lara openly identifying as LGBTQ+, KATSEYE stands out as one of the few girl groups in the K-pop scene with two openly queer members.

KATSEYE was formed through the HYBE and Universal Music Group audition show 'The Debut: Dream Academy' and officially debuted in June 2023. The group consists of six members: Lara, Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Megan, and Yoon Chae. It is part of HYBE’s efforts to build a locally-rooted, globally relevant girl group in the United States.

The group will return with their second EP titled 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' on June 27. They are also scheduled to perform at 'Lollapalooza,' one of the largest music festivals in the United States, taking place from July 31 to August 3 at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois.
