According to media outlet reports on May 8 KST, former WINNER member and singer Nam Tae Hyun (31) was booked for causing an accident while driving drunk last month. 

Previously on April 27 KST, Nam Tae Hyun was booked through the Seoul Yongsan Police Station for causing an accident on the Gangbyeon Expressway toward Ilsan near Dongjak Bridge. Nam Tae Hyun attempted to pass another vehicle traveling ahead of him and ran into a median strip on the expressway, and no one including the driver himself was injured. The musician's blood alcohol content (BAC) level was above 0.08%, or high enough to have his driver's license revoked.

Nam Tae Hyun is currently on a probationary period of approximately 2 years after being found guilty of illegal drug use in January of 2024. He was previously charged with administering the illegal drug pilopon, purchased through Telegram, by mixing it in alcohol some time in 2022. While under investigation for drug use, Nam Tae Hyun was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol once in March of 2023, being fined approximately 6 million USD.

Regarding the musician's second DUI case, the Seoul Yongsan Police told media outlets, "Nam Tae Hyun's drunk driving case will soon be sent to prosecution after additional investigation."

Meanwhile, Nam Tae Hyun was scheduled to resume his activities as a singer with a festival appearance in Hongdae on May 6 KST. However, his appearance was abruptly cancelled on May 4. He is still scheduled to release a new album on May 9.
