Hyungwon of MONSTA X held a special fan event titled 'Hyungwon’s Wonder Garden' on May 17 in Seoul, just four days after completing his 18-month military service. The two-session event, which quickly sold out, was a touching reunion with fans who had long awaited his return.
He made a surprise entrance from the audience, holding a bouquet, and opened with Damon’s Year’s 'Window', chosen to express his feelings through a song he loves. He greeted MONBEBE warmly, saying, “I was nervous to see you again, but I wanted to share something meaningful.”
The event featured stories from his service during the '546 Days: A Flower in Bloom' segment. Sharing photos and anecdotes—from funny military moments to playing trombone borrowed from Kihyun—he showcased his humor and sincerity.
In the 'MONBEBE in Bloom' segment, Hyungwon read heartfelt fan letters submitted through Berriz, including one from a birthday fan and another written in a Busan dialect, sparking both tears and laughter.
He then performed a medley of songs like 'Igloo', 'Magnetic', 'One Day I LOVE YOU', 'Siren', and 'Boom Boom Bass', proving his performance skills remained sharp. The energy continued with a post-it challenge corner, where he granted fans’ wishes by taking on trending dance challenges and performing MONSTA X tracks like 'Fallin’', 'Rodeo', and 'ZONE'.
Playful segments like 'Charades' and 'Whatever MONBEBE Asks' added more fan interaction, with Hyungwon gifting 100 autographed posters per session when fans won a game—further highlighting his appreciation.
Closing the event, Hyungwon shared, “No matter how cold the world may be, I hope this place will always be your greenhouse.” He ended with a performance of Woody’s 'Just Throw Something On' and personally greeted departing fans, wrapping up the day on a heartfelt note.
He later said through Starship Entertainment, “Seeing MONBEBE again after so long made me nervous, but also so happy. I hope this day stays in your memory as much as it will in mine. Let’s see each other more, laugh more, and be happier together. I love you, MONBEBE.”
Hyungwon will return to official activities starting with his appearance as MC at the 'Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025' on May 29.
