FIFTY FIFTY’s Chanelle Moon shares the story behind her name.
On the May 6th KST broadcast of MBC Radio FM4U’s 'Noon Song of Hope with Kim Shin Young' (Junghee), FIFTY FIFTY appeared as guests to promote their third mini-album 'Day & Night'.
During the show, DJ Kim Shin Young remarked, “Your names sound like stage names, but I heard they’re your real names,” prompting Chanelle Moon to share, “My mom and dad came up with it together.”
She added, “In English, the spelling is a bit different from the luxury brand Chanel. My mom didn’t want to use it because it sounded too similar, but my dad suggested changing the spelling to make it unique.”
Surprisingly, member Hana is the only one using a stage name. She explained, “My real name is In Haram, but I really wanted to use ‘Hana’ as my stage name. It was actually Chanelle unnie who suggested it.”
