Director Ryoo Seung Wan’s spy action blockbuster ‘Humint’ is seeing a strong resurgence on Netflix after underperforming in theaters.
According to FlixPatrol on April 5, the film ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s global movie chart and has held the top spot for three consecutive days since its release on April 2. It also entered the Top 10 in 82 countries, including South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and several regions across the Middle East and Europe.

The film is drawing praise from global audiences and critics for its intense action and solid execution. Media outlets have compared it to a mix of the ‘007’ series, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,’ and ‘John Wick,’ highlighting both its suspense and action.
Although ‘Humint’ recorded around 1.98 million admissions in Korea, falling short of its break even point, it has found new success through a Netflix exclusive release. The film reportedly secured a high value licensing deal, helping recover much of its theatrical losses.
With its strong global performance, ‘Humint’ is now being seen as a notable comeback story on streaming platforms.
