On May 8 KST, NCT member Doyoung candidly addressed fans about the future of NCT 127 in a lengthy Weverse post.
He wrote:
"Hello. How have you been?
It's been a while since I wrote such a serious? post, so I thought I'd start with a generic greeting, even if it seems a little rigid.
What I'm about to share with you might be words better kept to myself, but after much consideration, I just felt that I couldn't just sit by and watch Czennies suffer from frustration and concern.
I am well aware that many of you are harboring frustration and disappointment in your hearts.
What I say here may not be enough to chase away those feelings in your hearts. My words may even add to your frustration and disappointment. But still, please read on, because I am putting my thoughts into words after much contemplation.
I know that many of you feel frustrated over NCT 127's future plans. It may sound like an excuse, but I mean it when I say that we are thinking very carefully about the future of NCT 127. How can we continue to portray NCT 127 as a team during this time of absence and incompletion?
Regarding the encore concert, which may be the most frustrating thing for many of you, while I am not directly involved in the company's planning in any way, I know for a fact that the company and the members all tried our best to make it work. In the end, we could not make it work and that turned out to be a disappointment for many of you, but I just felt that those efforts should not disappear so quickly just because the results were unsatisfactory.
Rather than trying to convince you, 'Please know that we tried', I wanted to convey to you my intention to not simply avoid these issues which are very important to us and to Czennies just because it can be a difficult issue to tackle.
No one can have everything they wish for come true, but that doesn't mean that wishes never come true either. Right now, it's time for us to be open with one another and think carefully about how we can proceed with a new chapter in our story.
Most importantly, I want you all to know that there is not a single member of NCT 127 who puts their own career before the team. There is no member among us who holds the team back because of their personal greed.
And it should never be that way, if all of the members acknowledge the love that NCT 127 has received from fans in the past 10 years. We are always debating on the future of NCT 127. We will make it happen. Please trust me.
Even now, while Taeyong and Jaehyun are away temporarily, the 6 of us and Czennies are here protecting this team. And when I'm away for a moment, or when another member is away for a moment, the remaining members will continue to protect NCT 127. I know that you are worried, but please, trust us.
Lastly, I want you to know that I wrote this post because of Czennies. If the company makes mistakes and disappoints fans, or if there are matters that NCT 127 should address and reflect on, then your feedback and criticism is necessary. But when I think about Czennies feeling upset and frustrated without anywhere to turn to, nothing could make me sadder. So I wanted to relieve you of those feelings, even if just a little.
I know that this was quite long, but one last word. NCT 127 promises to be a team that you can trust, a team that can guarantee that while you are a fan of this group, pouring your heart out for us, you will not be betrayed.
Thank you for reading."
Earlier this week, some NCT 127 fans launched a protest movement after SM Entertainment announced its 'Music Line-Up Preview' for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2025. The preview included plans for Doyoung to release his 2nd solo album , for NCT Dream to make a comeback, and for Haechan to release his 1st solo album in the 3rd quarter. In response, fans demanded schedules for NCT 127, including an encore concert in Seoul to wrap up their 4th world tour, 'The Momentum', and a comeback in the latter half of 2025.
