Park Bo Gum and Shin Ye Eun are set to meet in a new drama.
According to an exclusive report by SPOTV News on April 2, Shin Ye Eun is currently in talks to take on the female lead in the upcoming drama 'Night Traveler.' The series is a romance project written by Yoon Ji Ryun, known for 'Boys Over Flowers' and 'Move to Heaven.'
Park Bo Gum is expected to play the male lead. 'Night Traveler' has been in development since last year, and once casting is finalized, production is set to officially move forward.
Shin Ye Eun’s Versatility Across Genres
Shin Ye Eun has demonstrated strong acting skills across a range of genres through works such as 'Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born' and 'The Glory.' Notably, her role in Netflix’s 'The Glory' marked a major transformation of her image. She earned praise for her realistic portrayal of the younger version of Park Yeon Jin, a notorious school bully and one of the drama’s most memorable villains.
She continued to impress in 'Jeongnyeon,' a drama based on a webtoon centered on women’s traditional theater. In the series, she played the sharp-tongued and elegant elite character Heo Young Seo. Shin Ye Eun even performed on stage herself, showcasing traditional vocal techniques and choreography.
In a post-drama interview, she revealed her dedication, saying, “I started practicing as soon as I was cast. I kept practicing throughout filming. It feels like I worked on it for nearly a year. The same goes for pansori.”
Speaking about her role as Bang Ja in 'The Tale of Chunhyang,' she added, “I practiced constantly—carrying it with me all day, rehearsing on the street and even in front of the company elevator. Whenever I had space to practice, I did. I don’t think I’ve ever been that nervous while filming before.”
Known for consistently reinventing herself, Shin Ye Eun is set to meet viewers through multiple projects this year. She will also star alongside Lee Jae Wook in the upcoming ENA romantic comedy 'Doctor on the Edge.'
Park Bo Gum, a Proven Hitmaker
Park Bo Gum is expected to lead 'Night Traveler' as its male protagonist. He rose to widespread fame through the hit tvN drama 'Reply 1988,' which surpassed 19% in viewership ratings and solidified his status as a leading star.
He has since built a strong career with projects such as 'Love in the Moonlight,' 'Encounter,' 'Record of Youth,' and 'Good Boy.' In particular, he received critical acclaim last year for his portrayal of the tough and steadfast character Yang Gwan Sik in 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'
Beyond dramas and films, Park Bo Gum has also been active in variety shows. Since January 30, he has been appearing on the tvN program 'The Village Barber,' alongside actors Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong Yeon. The show follows the trio as hairstylists running a salon in a remote village, offering both hair makeovers and emotional comfort to locals. The program has been well-received for its heartwarming stories and strong cast chemistry.
Continuing his active career across various fields, Park Bo Gum is also set to return to the screen with upcoming films 'Canvas of Blood' and 'The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf.' He is expected to join 'Night Traveler' following his scheduled projects.
