On May 23, a new episode titled “Kian84’s Art Hobby Club (Dex, Ji Ye Eun)” was released on Kian84’s YouTube channel Life84, where television personality Dex surprised viewers by revealing his retirement plans.

In the video, Kian84 invited actress Ji Ye Eun and Dex to join him for a hiking trip. Ji Ye Eun had previously appeared with Kian84 on 'Kian's Bizarre B&B,' while Dex had worked with him on 'Adventure by Accident.' The reunion of these two guests sparked excitement as it brought together two well-loved shows.

Kian84 suggested they enjoy the hike and then draw together, turning the outing into a spontaneous art session. Ji Ye Eun, who is one year older than Dex, playfully insisted on being called “older sister,” a Korean term used by younger males to address older sisters or female friends. Dex laughed at the idea of emphasizing a one-year age difference, hinting at a light-hearted chemistry between the two.

As they painted at a scenic spot, the conversation took a more serious turn. Dex shared that his perspective on work had changed, saying that he had been working hard but felt different about his career. He reflected that his new lifestyle had once made each day feel burdensome, and that he believed he may have experienced one of the fastest burnouts ever. He mentioned that he related to Yoo Jae Suk’s comment about how sometimes everything just needs to stop. Dex added that simply making it this far felt like a blessing and that he now approaches work with the mindset that it is okay if everything ends tomorrow.

He then revealed his backup plan. He said he has something else lined up if his current career ends and that he is preparing to become a firefighter. By having another path ready, he explained, it reassures him that his current life is not everything. However, he made it clear that this does not mean he will stop giving his best. He plans to dedicate himself fully and walk away when the time comes, with no regrets.

Dex also spoke about a memorable moment from his recent appearance at the 'Baeksang Arts Awards.' He shared that his favorite actor is Lee Byung Hun. After the ceremony, Dex saw him getting up and went over to thank him. He shook his hand tightly and looked him in the eyes, expressing deep respect. He said that Lee Byung Hun returned the gaze sincerely, which meant a lot to him. Dex added that this might have been his only chance to meet someone he admires so much.

Fans praised Dex for his honest and thoughtful reflections, expressing admiration for his humility and future ambitions beyond the entertainment world.
