On the April 8 episode of TV Chosun’s 'Dad and I,' actress Park Han Byul appeared alongside her father. During the show, the two climbed a snowy mountain together, and Park opened up about her thoughts and emotions. Her father referenced the Burning Sun scandal, saying, “You’ve taken enough time off since then. Now it’s time to return and do what you want.”
In response to her father's words, Park Han Byul shared, "I didn’t even dream of returning to TV. I thought I needed to find a different career.” She explained, “I opened a café in Jeju Island thinking I’d move on to something new. But many customers would say things like, ‘I really enjoyed your drama, when will you be back? I want to see you again soon.’ I thought everyone had turned their backs on me, but it made me realize there are still so many people waiting for me.”
Park Han Byul continued, "Actually, I made up my mind to return at the end of last year, but it’s been delayed. The wall of reality felt too high, and it was hard to overcome. A lot of difficult things happened. And it’s not something I can do just because I want to. With this job, it only happens if people want to see me again. I’ve always said, ‘Even if I want to come back, it’s not entirely up to me.’”
In response, her father expressed his love and affection, saying, "You’ve gone through so much pain in silence and endured it all with strength. I’m so proud of you and you’re truly courageous. As a father, I admire you. I hope you continue to be loved by everyone, as a mother and as an actress, and that you build a happy family just like you are now. I love you, my daughter.”
Meanwhile, Park Han Byul married Yoo In Suk, the former CEO of Yuri Holdings, in 2017. They have two sons together. In 2019, Yoo In Suk became entangled in the Burning Sun scandal and was later given a suspended sentence in 2020 for charges including embezzlement, prostitution mediation, violations of the Food Sanitation Act, and breaking the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
