Dyson Korea announced on April 8 that they have selected Jang Won Young as the official ambassador for their hair device division. The company explained that the decision was inspired by Jang Won Young’s healthy hair and her unique ability to express herself.
Jang Won Young, a member of the girl group IVE, has become a globally loved K-pop icon. She has established her distinctive style through her strong presence across performance, vocals, visuals, and fashion. Her diverse charm and passion align closely with the values that Dyson Korea pursues.
Dyson Korea stated, “Jang Won Young’s healthy hair, which shines wherever she goes as she constantly challenges new possibilities, was the inspiration behind her selection as ambassador.” As the new face of Dyson’s hair device products, she will be actively involved in various marketing campaigns moving forward.
Jang Won Young commented, “I believe the secret to pulling off a wide range of concepts as an idol lies in having healthy hair. The Dyson Airwrap, which I regularly use, is an essential item that helps me style my hair quickly and easily while maintaining its health.” She added, “As Dyson Korea’s hair device ambassador, I will do my best to showcase various looks with Dyson’s innovative technology.”
Kathleen Van Nest Pierce, Head of Dyson’s Beauty Division, said, “We are truly delighted to be working with Jang Won Young, the owner of a Dyson Airwrap and a representative icon of South Korea.” She continued, “Dyson continues to innovate the beauty industry through ongoing technology development and hair science research. We hope to inspire many people through amazing hairstyling collaborations with Jang Won Young.”
Meanwhile, in 2022, Dyson announced a £500 million (approximately 640 million USD) investment to expand its beauty portfolio. Since then, Dyson has continued to lead in technological innovation with the launches of the Dyson Airwrap i.d.™ Multi-Styler and Dryer, Dyson Supersonic Neural Hair Dryer, Dyson Airstrait Straightener, and the Dyson Chitosan Hair Essential Care line.
Dyson Korea plans to continue prioritizing hair health in its product development, while also focusing on expanding its portfolio with cutting-edge technology.
