Lee Young Ji sparked excitement after her playful interactions with Shin Won Ho, director of the ‘Reply’ series, on tvN’s variety show ‘Green Bean, Red Bean spinoff: Cafeteria Operation’.
In the January 30 episode, Lee Young Ji appeared as a surprise part-time worker to assist Lee Kwang Soo and Do Kyung Soo (D.O.). Together with Na Young Seok PD, she devised a plan to secretly surprise the two actors. After going unnoticed for over 10 minutes, she finally revealed herself, causing Do Kyung Soo to jump in shock and Lee Kwang Soo to exclaim, "When did you even get here?"
The biggest surprise of the episode came when Shin Won Ho appeared as their first dinner guest. Na Young Seok joked that Shin Won Ho directed a series Lee Young Ji had never watched. Embarrassed, she grinned and offered extra side dishes as an apology. In response, Shin Won Ho teased, "We’re considering casting Lee Young Ji as the lead in the next ‘Reply’ series."
Following the broadcast, Lee Young Ji playfully addressed the comment through her Instagram story, saying, "Please! Not watching ‘Reply’ was just a concept. I’m totally ‘Team Taek’ (Park Bo Gum's character). The only show I genuinely haven’t seen is ‘Hospital Playlist’. Sorry about that. But please consider ‘Reply 2002’!"
Fans found her reaction hilarious, especially since she had previously admitted on ‘Earth Arcade’ that she hadn’t watched ‘Reply’. To further prove her fandom, Lee Young Ji explained the plot of ‘Reply 1988’ to inquisitive fans, eventually joking, "I don’t even remember my own life that well. If you don’t believe me, that’s your problem. I’ll go watch ‘Hospital Playlist’ now."
Currently, Lee Young Ji is hosting ‘The Seasons – Lee Young Ji’s Rainbow’ on KBS 2TV, continuing to gain popularity in both music and entertainment.
