Director Lee Byunghun, who was initially in charge of directing Kim Eunsook's new Netflix series 'Everything Will Come True,' has unexpectedly stepped down from the project.
On the 27th, a Netflix official announced, "Director Lee Byunghun has stepped down from 'Everything Will Come True' for personal reasons. The production company will oversee the latter stages of the series, with staff members in each field collaborating on the project."
The official added, "We ask for your understanding as we cannot disclose any details regarding the timing or reasons behind the director's departure."
'Everything Will Come True,' which has already completed filming, tells the story of a genie, an overly emotional spirit of a lamp, and a woman who awakens the genie, as they navigate a conflict over three wishes. The series stars Kim Woobin, Suzy, Ahn Eunjin, Noh Sanghyun, and Go Kyupil.
The series has drawn significant attention since its production stage due to its star-studded cast and the collaboration between writer Kim Eunsook, known for hit dramas such as 'Secret Garden,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'Goblin,' 'Descendants of the Sun,' and 'The Glory,' and director Lee Byunghun, recognized for his work on the films 'Twenty' and 'Extreme Job,' as well as the drama 'Melo is My Nature.'
The release date for the series has not yet been announced.
