The group NewJeans has made it to the Top 10 at MMA 2024.
On November 30, Melon held 'The 16th Melon Music Awards, MMA 2024' (hereafter referred to as MMA or Melon Music Awards) at the Inspire Arena in Incheon. Although NewJeans did not attend the event, they earned the honor of being selected as one of the Top 10. This year, the group released several tracks, including their title songs 'Bubble Gum', 'How Sweet', 'Right Now', and 'Supernatural', actively engaging with fans.
Recently, NewJeans announced the termination of their exclusive contract with their agency, ADOR, but quickly resumed normal activities. Notably, they appeared on the Japanese TV Asahi music program Music Station on November 29 (local time). Following this performance, they achieved the significant milestone of making it into the MMA 2024 Top 10.
Meanwhile, MMA is South Korea's largest music awards ceremony and festival, recognizing and celebrating artists' achievements over the past year through objective Melon data, user votes, and expert evaluations.
Awards include categories such as Top 10 and Millions Top 10, along with the five major awards: Artist of the Year, KakaoBank Album of the Year, Best Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Rookie of the Year. The winners of these prestigious honors will be announced during the event.
