K-pop group i-dle has connected with Japanese viewers through a new anime opening theme.
The group performed 'Hide and Seek', the opening track for the anime 'Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?', which premiered on April 8 on TV Asahi. The song captures a confident sense of individuality while expressing a girl’s hidden desire to have her true feelings understood.
i-dle shared that the track combines a cute yet thrilling vibe, adding that they hope viewers enjoy the song alongside the characters’ emotional journey.
The anime, based on a popular manga of the same name, is a romantic comedy that follows the growing connection between two gyaru girls and an otaku boy through shared interests.
Following the success of their first Japan arena tour and the release of their Japanese EP, i-dle continues to expand its presence in the local market. The group is also set to hold concerts in Yokohama this June as part of their upcoming world tour.
