IU has effectively put an end to long-standing rumors of a feud with Lee Hyori after appearing on Lee Sang Soon’s radio show.
On April 8, IU appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s 'A Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon.'
DJ Lee Sang Soon warmly greeted her, saying, “It’s been a really long time since we last met. We’ve talked on the phone occasionally and even worked together, but we’ve both been busy. We’ve both been in Seoul for quite a while, but still couldn’t find the time. I’m glad we finally get to meet again like this.”

IU responded, “When I heard I could see you here today, I decided to appear without even a second of hesitation,” referencing their past connection from Hyori’s Homestay.
During the broadcast, IU also promoted her upcoming MBC drama 21st Century Grand Princess.
Lee Sang Soon mentioned Lee Hyori as well, saying, “Last time, I watched When Life Gives You Tangerines with my wife, and we cried so much. We even talked about it again while crying. It was incredibly enjoyable, so I’m really looking forward to your new project too.”
When IU asked if he planned to watch her new drama, he replied, “Of course.”

IU then added, “It airs at 9 PM on April 10 and 11. Just this week, it will air at 9:40 PM. You promised you’d watch, right? I know you go to bed early.” Lee Sang Soon joked, “We usually go to sleep around 9:20 PM, but we’ll make an exception on the weekend. We’ll be sure to watch.”
IU previously formed a close bond with Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon through JTBC’s 'Hyori’s Homestay.' However, after the show, rumors of a falling out surfaced when it was revealed they had unfollowed each other on social media.
Speculation grew further when Lee Hyori did not attend IU’s concert despite being invited, and IU did not appear on Lee Hyori’s show, 'The Seasons: Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet.'
However, Lee Hyori addressed the rumors last year on the YouTube show Pinggyego, stating, “There aren’t many people who consistently care for us as a couple. Still, there are people who do—Hong Hyun Hee, Jay Ssun, Yoo Jae Suk, and IU,” directly mentioning IU and easing speculation of a feud.

With IU’s appearance on Lee Sang Soon’s radio program now confirmed, attention once again turned to the trio’s relationship—effectively putting the rumors to rest.
Netizens reacted positively, commenting, “It’s nice to see such a long-standing connection,” “The feud rumors were just gossip,” and “Now I’m curious if they’ll really watch the drama live.”
