Actress Moon Geun Young opened up about recovering from a rare disease.
On October 21, Moon Geun Young shared a message to fans on Instagram. The popular actress has been out of the limelight due to her struggles with acute compartment syndrome, a serious condition that occurs when pressure builds up in a muscle compartment and leads to impaired circulation, tissue function, possible muscle and nerve damage, and permanent injury or even amputation if left untreated. She reportedly underwent 4 surgeries in 2017 for the issue.
Moon Geun Young wrote, "I really wanted to say this... 😭 More people than I expected were concerned about my health. I'm so grateful for that. So, I have one request for the reporters!!!!! I have completely recovered and I want you to make sure to report that I’m in a very, very healthy state. 🙏🏻 Although I’ve gained a bit of weight... 🤣 I’m currently on a diet while watching my weight loss videos every day. 💪🏻 Now, instead of worrying about my health, I hope you’ll cheer me on for my diet success! 🥰"
In other news, Moon Geun Young is starring in the upcoming Netflix series 'Hellbound 2', which is scheduled to premiere on October 25.
