'BOYS PLANET' contestants who are also members of other K-pop groups

AKP STAFF

'Boys Planet' is an ongoing boy group reality survival show produced by Mnet to form a global K-pop boy group. The show is a male version of 'Girls Planet 999,' the survival program that formed the girl group Kep1er.

The survival show features 93 male trainees in total as contestants. The trainees are split into two groups: the K-Group for candidates from Korea and the G-Group for contestants from across the world. Some of the participants are already members of other K-pop groups. Here, let’s have a look at such contestants from the K-Group of the survival show.

LEE HOE TAEK (Hui) - PENTAGON

Lee Hoe-Taek, better known by his stage name Hui, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and composer who is one of the most popular participants in “Boys Planet.” He is the leader and main vocalist of the well-known K-pop boy group PENTAGON. This already-established idol made his debut with PENTAGON in 2016. He was also a former member of Triple H. He is a very talented composer who even participated in making Wanna One’s debut song, “Energetic.”

    JANG JI HO - NINE.i

Rapper Jang Ji Ho, also known as Jiho, is the youngest member of NINE.i, a ten-member rookie K-pop boy band under the management of FirstOne Entertainment. Jiho made his debut with the group on March 30, 2022, with the mini album “New World.” This South Korean idol, who has already made his debut, is currently competing on Boys Planet as a participant in the K-Group.

      SEO WON - NINE.i

Seo Won is another member of the rookie K-pop boy band NINE.i, who is currently taking part as a contestant on Mnet's boy group reality survival show "Boys Planet," alongside Jiho. He serves as the group's Dancer. He has been dancing since he was young and even specialized in modern dance at college. In 2018, Seowon also took part in the dancing variety show "Dancing High," broadcast on KBS 2TV.

        LEE HWAN HEE - UP10TION

Lee Hwan-hee, also known as Hwanhee, is a South Korean singer and the second-youngest member of UP10TION, which is a 10-member boy group under the label TOP Media. The group made their debut on September 10, 2015, with the debut mini album "Top Secret." He also took part in a number of OSTs. He was revealed as one of the contestants on Mnet's survival show "Boys Planet" in December last year.

          LEE DONG YEOL - UP10TION

Lee Dong-yeol, better known by his stage name Xiao is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and composer signed to the label TOP Media. He is a vocalist, a dancer, and the youngest member of the K-pop boy band UP10TION. Along with bandmate Hwanhee, Xiao is also competing in the ongoing Mnet boy group reality survival program "Boys Planet."

I'm rooting for all 5 of them, especially Hui.

Top Media pullin another episode like they did with Jinhyuk and wooseok pisses me off so bad. If they keep these two from the group and ruin up10tion further I will never forgive. Xiao knows how to write and compose and is an amazing dancer, Hwanhee is often compared to Baekhyun, seeing this show call them trainees just bugs me....

Nine.I just debuted so I don't understand why they are on this show, would have been better off on Peak Time.

I refuse to watch this show but everything I see on social media and all the little snippets of Hui, has them editing him like he's some washed up idol on his last leg, which he's clearly not anywhere close to that.

I don't agree with them being on here either. But I also don't like how any of them are being edited.

Let's not forget Keita is from Ciipher, and Ze:u was from Black Level, also missing Winnie from Nine.I.
