Yang Hyun Suk and his lawyers argue to throw out evidence where Han Seo Hee talks about his threats

While Yang Hyun Suk is being accused of persuading and threatening the public informant Han Seo Hee to retract her testimony against B.I when she alleged that the idol had purchased drugs in 2016, a recording of his threats were revealed.

Currently, Yang Hyun Suk claims that Han Seo Hee had become a public informant for money. However, the prosecution revealed that they will submit additional recordings from Dispatch showing that Han Seo Hee was threatened by Yang Hyun Suk.

On the afternoon of August 29 KST, the 23rd Criminal Settlement Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the ninth trial against Yang Hyun Suk on charges of persuading and threatening (violation of the Act on Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes) Han Seo Hee to retract her testimony against B.I when she alleged that the idol had purchased drugs in 2016

At the trial, three witnesses, including Choi, who was Han's drug supplier, were summoned to be questioned. However, Choi did not attend the trial due to medical reasons, and only two witnesses were questioned.

During the 8th trial on August 8, the prosecution announced that it would submit a recording from the entertainment media outlet Dispatch as evidence, just as Han Seo Hee mentioned.

Han Seo Hee claimed, "Dispatch recorded a conversation from 2017 to 2019 and what I said (that I was threatened by Yang Hyun Suk) is saved in the recording file."

Regarding this, the prosecution explained they could hand in the recording and stated, "This incident occurred in August 2016 and we received a recording file from Dispatch from 2017 with Ms. Han." The prosecutor added they will also bring the person who interviewed Han Seo Hee as a witness.

In response, Yang Hyun Suk's attorney argued that the evidence is inappropriate and should be thrown out.

Yang Hyun Suk's attorney said, "We have questioned Han as a witness for three months, and she was inconsistent in her testimonies. We refuted her arguments each time and we question if it is justified for her to submit additional evidence."

However, the prosecution counterargued, "We are trying to submit supplementary evidence because the defense attorney claims that Ms. Han is inconsistent with her claims."

The presiding judge said that he would consider the submission of Dispatch's recording as evidence.

Meanwhile, Han Seo Hee claimed that Yang Hyun Suk threatened her, saying, "It's easy to kill you."

For everyone who's confused: There is no recording of YHS threatening her, it's a recording of her telling Dispatch about the threats in 2017. The prosecutors want to use that to prove that she is consistent in at least the important details and that she didn't just make up this claim recently for money as YHS lawyers are saying.

Instead of a "he said, she said..." type of arguments in court where narratives can be skewed depending on how the questions are asked, I rather the actual recording of their conversation be used as evidence since it is irrefutable to a certain degree.
