Singer Kwon Eun Bi has surprised many with her generous gesture toward her managers, offering them housing at an affordable rent without any financial burden.
On August 23, MBC’s variety show 'Point of Omniscient Interference' released a preview video titled 'The Landlord is Kwon Eun Bi?! Managers Become Tenants in Eun Bi’s Building.'
In the clip, Kwon Eun Bi, who was working at a café, called one of her managers at home: “Can you come by quickly to test a new menu?” The manager, who replied, “I’ll be right down,” appeared from the upper floor of the café building, surprising the MCs.
The manager explained, “Eun Bi gave me a room, so I moved in as a tenant. I used to live near the office paying normal rent, but she offered me a room much cheaper than market value. She said she wanted me to save money and sleep comfortably. After considering the practical aspects, I decided to move in.”
The manager added, “At first, I felt a bit guilty living in her building and even declined at first, but now I’m really happy. I don’t want to leave.” The MCs noted his improved appearance, joking, “Looks like more sleep really made your face better!”
Kwon Eun Bi’s building houses two of her managers. Manager Seong Jae lives on the first floor, a regular tenant occupies the second floor, and the youngest manager stays in the rooftop unit. Eun Bi explained, “Seong Jae has a two-room unit, the second floor is a three-room, and the rooftop is a studio. They work hard with me, and being early in their careers, I wanted to help them. At first, they felt bad and hesitated, but I told them not to worry and live comfortably.”
When MC Yang Se Hyung suggested she might end up housing other celebrities, Eun Bi replied, “I expected that question, but I said, ‘Stay as long as you want.’ They’ve already moved in. We agreed on a rent amount that they can comfortably afford—low enough not to be burdensome, but not free, which would be awkward for them. The lease is for two years.”
Last year, Kwon Eun Bi made headlines when she purchased a standalone house in Seoul’s Seongdong District for 2.4 billion KRW (approximately $1.73 million).
