SBS's 'Inkigayo' temporarily suspends noisemaking in the audience due to the rapid spread of COVID-19

AKP STAFF

Audiences members attending live recordings of SBS's 'Inkigayo' will have to refrain from cheering on their favorite artists for a while as of August 5.

The music program notified viewers on this day, "Per recent changes in disease prevention guidelines, all noisemaking in the audience during 'Inkigayo' pre-recordings and live broadcasts is temporarily banned. Please understand that this decision was made for the safety of all artists and audiences on set, and instead send your warm applause."

The changes follow a rapid resurgence of COVID-19 cases in South Korea since last month.

TWICE Seoul III concert did the same thing.

Everyone said "they werent cheering for TWICE/hostile audience" with in reality TWICE stated to the audience at the start "you can't cheer thanks to covid to keep people safe, so keep your masks on too, but you can do (1) clap hands, (2) stop feet (3) wave candybong."

This is getting silly. The world is WAY past the point of eradicating or even containing Covid-19 other than getting vaccinated to reduce the chance of the more life-threatening effects. We just need to accept that it's here to stay forever just like the Flu, and that completely unfounded "measures" like telling show attendees to not make noise will not change anything.
