Netizens label BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' as the 'Public's Pick' due to its longevity on the charts

Thanks to Kim Taehyung's immense talent and popularity, his recent solo song continues to perform well on Korean charts despite no promotions from the label during its release.

V's 'Christmas Tree' is this year's longest-charting male idol song on the Melon, South Korea's largest streaming platform. It currently ties with IU's 'Winter Sleep' as the longest-charting idol songs of 2022.

Since its release on Dec. 24, 2021, 'Christmas Tree' has not left the Melon Top 100 Daily Chart and has spent a total of 125 days in it.

It has also spent 18 consecutive weeks on the Gaon Weekly Chart and is currently the only male idol solo song to exceed 100 million Gaon Index points in 2022.

Melon revamped its charts in 2020 to reduce fandom's influence and reflect the taste of the general public. Since then, it has become harder for songs to remain on the chart with just fan support, making 'Christmas Tree's success all the more impressive.
