Kim Jung Hyun releases a handwritten apology letter

AKP STAFF

Actor Kim Jung Hyun has issued a handwritten apology letter.

On April 14th, the actor delivered a handwritten apology letter to a media outlet.

In his letter, he wrote: "Hello, this is Kim Jung Hyun.

Drama 'Time' was my first project to act as a male lead, so it had a special meaning to me. But I have deeply disappointed the director, the writer, the cast, and the staff. I apologize.

I have fragmented memories of the press conference for 'Time'. Back then I acted like a person even I wouldn't approve of. I am deeply regretful of my past actions.

I have chosen to let my personal life interfere with my professional life. I did not take my accountability as an actor or a leading character. I apologize without any excuse. The entire process of me departing 'Time' in the middle of the series and my actions at the press conference were wrong. I sincerely apologize to all the staff who had to go through rough times and to actress Seohyun who was hurt, all because of my actions.

I believe I should personally apologize to them, to everyone who I have inflicted harm on, even if it takes time. I am morally sorry to my label O& Entertainment, and Culture Depot whose name came up dishonorably. And I am sincerely sorry to my fans who have been supporting and waiting for me.

I also beg everyone who was concerned for forgiveness. I had time to reflect upon my blunder and wrongful action while writing this letter. If I get another chance, I would not take everything for granted and become an actor who takes care of himself both mentally and physically.

I am sorry."

And nowhere does he shoulder the blame for his ex's actions like her company insinuated he would do in their statement where they tried to pass the blame over to him. Even after they did that he just left her out completely instead of trying to throw her under the bus like they did. It's the bare minimum he could do but at least he apologized himself and owned up to his actions without making excuses. It doesn't at all dismiss his behavior but this is miles ahead of whatever her company was trying to do.

This all came out because of his issue with his agency. If I’m not mistaken he’s already apologized to the Times people back in 2018. From what I’ve read he’s actually met up with the actress privately in person to apologize to her then. This is his second time apologizing. He sought help hence why he took an 11 month hiatus, he got better as you can all see from CLOY and Mr.Queen. I’m just worried about his mental health right now because of all of this unnecessary drama just because he wants to sign with a new agency. All I can say is KJH please stay positive and seek help when you’re having a hard time. Mental Health issues are serious and it should not be taken lightly. Both men and women go through it, it doesn’t discriminate between genders!
