IU and BLACKPINK take up the top five spots of the most popular overseas female celebrities in 2020 voted by Chinese netizens

IU and BLACKPINK were selected as the most popular overseas celebrities in China in 2020.


China's social media platform Weibo announced the '2020 Popular Overseas Celebrities Ranking' to mark the start of 2021. In the female celebrity category, IU came in first place, followed by all the members of BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK's Lisa took second place, followed by Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose in third, fourth, and fifth place, respectively.

In the male celebrity category, EXO's Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Sehyun took the top three ranks, respectively, while Big Bang's G-Dragon and actor Lee Jong Seok took fourth and fifth place.

In particular, IU has topped Weibo's popularity charts for 17 consecutive months since February of 2019.
