BLACKSWAN's Youngheun speaks up about ageism in the K-Pop industry

In a recent interview with Edaily, BLACKSWAN's leader Youngheun spoke up about ageism in the K-Pop industry.

Youngheun, who is turning 26 this month, revealed there's a stigma her group wants to break.

She said: "When you're in your 20s, you get negative comments about being too old for a girl group. BLACKSWAN is a team of mostly mid-20s except for Leia. I want to be successful, so the industry doesn't force people to give up their dreams due to age."

What do you think of this?

One of reasons I dislike seeing Shinhwa, TVXQ, Super Junior and any other 1st and 2nd Gen artists getting hate from younger fans. If you make good music, then continue doing what makes you happy... whether your 18, 28 or 38. Age happens to all of us. It's really nice seeing an older rookie group like Black Swan, A.C.E also debuted at an older age, which is great to see.

She certainly has a point. Seriously people don't die at 30, or stop having a dream. Besides age brings life experience which is definitely part of the recipe for better song writing.
