With the release of BTS’s DVD for “Memories of 2019”, fans of the septet has taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and feelings on the 10 hours long DVD filled with their most notable highlights from the year, behind the scene footage from their world tour, practice sessions and many more heart-warming moments.
In particular, member V has received massive admiration from the fans for his unwavering efforts at gracing the audience with remarkable performances despite his hectic set-list throughout the tour.
One of the clips from the DVD that sparked the fans’ admiration for V is of him hurriedly preparing for his solo stage as the commentary reads: “V gets ready for his solo performance right away.. Between IDOL and Fake Love, V has the toughest slot.”
Many fans have noted that despite V having little to no time to take a breather as he had to be on stage for back-to-back intense performances, he showed no weariness and charmed the fans with his powerful performances throughout the tour.
One fan tweeted: “He had no time to rest between 8 songs. He spent the entire tour like this :( I really wonder how he endured all of this? It’s so draining but he gave his all and delivered the best performances.”
Another fan wrote: “I really respect Taehyung a lot. After the medley (4 songs) he performed Singularity then Fake Love… they both have one of the most exhausting choreographies but he never let it show. He is unbelievable.”
Despite his solo stage falling between high-energized performances, V beautifully stood out for his jaw-dropping performance of “Singularity” earning him favorable reviews from the critics, and of course the fans.
In their review of BTS’s concert at Rose Bowl, popular western media outlet: LA TIMES compared V to D’Angelo who is considered as an icon in the R&B and Neo-Soul genre of music. One of the largest daily newspapers in Singapore: The Straits Times chose “Singularity” as a highlight from the tour and said: His husky voice is perfect for the slow, languid song.” Moreover, Korean media outlets also showed their love as V’s solo stage was noted as a “Must-see performance, before you die.”
In addition to V’s compelling performances, V is also receiving love for the sincerity and gratitude he expresses towards the fans on stage.
A Korean YouTuber noted that V gazes at the audience, not as a worldwide star or an artist but as a human. He said: ”His attitude towards others deserves recognition. The fact that he expresses himself so visibly in such a hectic place, it's serene…. It's uniquely impressive to possess those emotive feelings and the ability to visually convey the scene without disturbance among the noisy environment.”
With the announcement for “Map of The Soul: One”, an online and offline concert reported to be held in October, fans are excited to see V capturing the hearts of fans through his incredible performances once again.
