BTS "A Brand New Day" and "Lights" make it to #NASAMoonTunes prestigious playlist

In honour of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, NASA has been accepting song recommendations from fans all over the world as they are making a playlist to listen to while traveling to the moon in 2024.

The playlist was created by Third Rock Radio and curated based on public submissions, with more than 1M votes cast around the world. The submission period lasted for 4 consecutive weeks from June 3 to June 28.

The playlist of "Moon Tunes" that includes 200 songs from different music genres has been revealed and there are two BTS songs being part of it.

The songs are "Lights" which is their latest Japanese single and "A Brand New Day" 2nd OST of BTS mobile game BTS World. The OST features two of the group’s members, V and J-Hope, alongside Swedish singer Zara Larsson.

Spotify said: “According to NASA, it was customary for flight crews to be roused with wake-up songs" . A Brand New Day opens with a classic, catchy beat, followed by a soothing whistle and coupled with the honeyed attractive vocals of BTS V and the sleek delivery of Jhope's rap.
Zara Larsson provides a beautiful contrast to the two boys which results in a very pleasant and fun song that might be the best choice for a journey to the moon.
