Song Joong Ki will be taking a short break.
On June 27, Song Joong Ki announced that he had filed for a divorce from Song Hye Kyo after a year and a half of marriage. In an official statement released by his attorney, the actor apologized to his fans and explained that he had hoped for an amicable divorce. Song Hye Kyo later responded to the announcement by releasing a statement of her own through her agency.

Later in the day, Song Joong Ki’s agency Blossom Entertainment stated, “For the time being, Song Joong Ki will be taking time off for himself without [attending] official events. Song Joong Ki is expected to begin filming ‘Lightning Ship‘ in early July. The exact details for the shoot haven’t been released yet. He will focus on filming ‘Lightning Ship’ after the schedule is set.”

When asked about Song Joong Ki’s personal schedule, the agency replied, “Because it’s the actor’s personal life, we cannot go into details. We ask for your understanding.”
Song Joong Ki was previously confirmed to star in “Lightning Ship,” a science fiction film set in the backdrop of the universe. The actor will be joined by Kim Tae Ri, Jin Seon Kyu, and Yoo Hae Jin.
