ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo reportedly cast as lead in new MBC historical drama opposite Shin Se Kyung

AKP STAFF

According to an exclusive report on February 7, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo has been cast as the male lead of a new MBC historical romance series!

The upcoming MBC drama series 'Rookie Officer Goo Hae Ryung' tells the story of early 19th century Joseon, a time when women who chose to learn how to read and write were frowned upon. Cha Eun Woo will reportedly play the role of a lonely prince named Lee Rim, whose personal relationship status is single-since-birth, but who lives a double life as a secretive, hit romance novel writer.

Previously, actress Shin Se Kyung was confirmed for the female lead role of Goo Hae Ryung - a new recruit among the palace officers who begins stalking prince Lee Rim for unknown reasons.

If true, this will mark Cha Eun Woo's first ever lead role in a drama aired on a public broadcasting station. Meanwhile, 'Rookie Officer Goo Hae Ryung' is expected to air some time this July.

Just so you know MBC, I am going to watch this drama because of Eun Woo, even if I am not impressed with the lead actress. (I wish they'll change it to Seo Ye Ji instead) >...< #AROHA
