G-Friend discussed their image change for their recent release "Sunny Summer" and comparisons to former girl group SISTAR.
G-Friend have always been known for their cute, friendly girl-next-door concept with plenty of inspiration from school girl themes, but their comeback with "Sunny Summer" was a bit of a change from what fans are used to. The girl group expressed in a recent interview with TV Report, "We want to be summer friends."
They continued, "There's a lot we want to show. That's why there's a lot to do in the future. Of course, the colors we want and the concepts we have to do may differ. In the summer, we want G-Friend to give a refreshing vibe, and in the winter, we want to give a more sensitive feeling. Refreshing, warm, bright, fresh, there's still a lot to do."
As for comparisons to SISTAR, who were known for their summer concepts, G-Friend said, "We could never say that we're taking SISTAR sunbaenim's place or filling in for them. G-Friend isn't a group that takes titles away from others. That would be bad."
