Sibling duo Akdong Musician will be expanding their concert into a nationwide tour.

On March 14, YG Entertainment announced the news about the change via SNS.

Three cities have been confirmed: Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan for the tour. Regions Sungnam, Daejeon, and Incheon are currently being looked into.

Beginning March 23, Akdong Musician will be holding their concert in Sogang University's Mary Hall in Seoul for a total of 8 consecutive days, from March 23 - April 2. Afterward, they will be heading to Gwangju on April 15, stopping in Daegu on April 22, and Busan on May 27.

The decision to expand the event was all thanks to fans' enthusiasm. Furthermore, tickets to the Seoul concerts have been sold out, with the event ranking number one on Melon Ticket.

Meanwhile, Akdong Musician's 'Diary' concert will illustrate the lives of the two members from different perspectives with a compilation of three points of views: 'Chanhyuk's Diary' 'Suhyun's Diary', and finally 'AKMU Diary.'

i keep wondering what kind of career are these two going to have when they get older.  yeah.. playing at universities and coffee shops are fine but they going to do this forever? oh well... at least they get more exposure than Lee Hi.

Idk know about her. But chanhyuk will probably end up being a big time producer. Hopefully under YG.

I think they have a fairly bright future. They have knack for writing songs that speak to folks their own age, but also have wider appeal to those older than them. Their chart numbers are solid which reflects this broad market. Further, while they aren't playing arena sized venues currently, it sounds like they are playing university concert halls that likely seat 1000 to 2000 people on this tour. Factor in that they don't require all the expensive stuff a girl group or boy band needs to perform their style of music and they can perform a show that is pretty profitable in a venue of that size. Further, there is obvious demand to fill a venue that size for 8 nights in Seoul and demand to fill similarly sized venues in other cities. That means that as long as they keep creating hit songs, they will cross over into bigger venues before long like the bigger 5000 seat halls or arenas. Considering their age and their type of music they are actually doing pretty well. Even the boy and girl group acts often take a few years before having a solo concert let alone have the support to fill an arena. Chanhyuk is about to go do his army stint, but Suhyun will likely still be performing either via collaborations or some solo releases (She's too good of a singer to not get offers to work with YG artists or artists outside of YG). That way it won't be like the group has just disappeared for two years. The group will stay in the public consciousness through Suhyun. Chanhyuk seems like the type who will take advantage of his army experience in his writing and likely use those two years to do a lot of writing and composing in his spare time. He could come out of the army with an album or more of material. In a nation where nearly everyone has had the experience of conscripted service either themself or someone close to them I could see him writing songs that really speak to the absurdity of military life at times, the loneliness or monotony of it, and how it impacts their loved ones. I think this duo could have a pretty long career in front of the microphone and Chanhyuk shows signs of having a good career as a composer/lyricist/producer behind the scenes as well.

The nice thing to is that both of them have fun personalities when they do go on shows like Happy Together or other variety shows, so they get invited back and variety appearances help immensely in maintaining popularity and gaining fans. If they were were just boring drones, there might be more need to worry, but they seem to have fun and bring that across in their music.
