S.Coups, the leader of the world-renowned Seventeen, celebrated his 30th birthday on August 8 by donating 50 million KRW (approximately $37,000) to help children from low-income families. The donation was made to the Community Chest of Korea.
With this contribution, S.Coups became the 3,710th member of the foundation’s Honor Society, a club for major donors.
Expressing his thoughts on the donation, S.Coups said, "Thanks to the love from my fans, my birthday has become a truly special day each year. I wanted to give back some of the love I have received to society. I will continue to support the healthy growth of all children and youth.”
S.Coups has long been known for his charitable efforts, actively contributing to causes such as child welfare and animal protection. He has supported animal shelters and rescue organizations, and in March, he donated relief funds to aid victims of the massive wildfires in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang Provinces.
SEVENTEEN, celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year, has been enjoying an active year. Their 5th full-length album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' released in May, topped the Circle Chart’s mid-year album rankings, while its title track “THUNDER” reached No. 1 on the Melon Top 100 chart.
The group is set to kick off their 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_]' at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in September, before heading to Hong Kong, North America, Japan, and other global destinations.
