Doojoon spoke up about being an idol.

He had filmed 'Going Around the World Through Package Deals'. On the show, Kim Sung Joo commented, "I don't think being an idol is that great as it seems," because Doojoon had to filter everything he said and could not speak honestly.

At that, Doojoon responded, "I've never regretted becoming an idol. It's a fun job that I like." When Kim Sung Joo asked him, "If you have a son, will you let him be an idol?", however, he answered firmly, "I'd never.

He explained, "It's not that the environment changes gradually - everything changes at once. There's a lot of dark things that are different from what people see."

The episode will air on the 31st.

Many comments here saying kids should be allowed to choose for themselves and that Dojoon should not restrict his kids from joining Kpop. I suppose they're comments from the West. I am not Korean but likewise Asian, and Westerners have to be informed that Asian parents are more "interventionist" in their children's life. Although I don't belong to Confucianist cultures like Korea, I must say that Asian parenting by and large is more involved and children are expected to obey and defer to their parents' wishes because, well, one cannot argue with the wisdom of the ages, and parents are supposed to be older and presumably wiser. (And that's also the reason why Dojoon is "leader" of Beast--not because he's the songwriter or the one who formed the band, but because he's older.) There are pros and cons to it of course, but by and large, Asian families are more cohesive and less prone to dysfunctionality unlike the family in the West. (And look at Beast, except for Hyunseung, the members have stuck together much like a family.) When one checks out how Hollywood kid stars like Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, and Justin Bieber have become, and how their bizarre, wild behavior could be checked by some good ol' parental spanking (shocking news to the West: corporeal punishment is practiced in Asian families!), then we can say that Dojoon, a future parent (that is if he's not yet a parent, we don't know really), is correct in living up to the Asian tradition.

He would be an awesome dad!! The show business world is not for everyone!! It's better only when you get to be popular... If not, then you only suffer from criticism... No mistake is allowed, especially for female idol/actresses in Korea! That's the sad reality in this field...

Also TAEYEON," Only wants her children to inherit her flawless skin not her vocal abilities. CUZ she knows how hard it is and doesn't want her children to suffer like her. " I wonder what a life of a kpop idols is really like...

To be more precise, the entertainment world is dirty and exploiting behind closed doors.

Where there is money and power, there is crime and darkness.. Money and power are two of men's greatest weaknesses. The darkness he speaks about is not just about working your ass off day and night while trying to stay relevant, nor about having crazy saesang's stalking your every move... Kids, maybe it's time you learned just how rotten people in power can be.

He'd be a good dad

Can easily understand why.

Tha dark side is the "sexual favors". The sponsorship, etc. Many had hinted or revealed (ex male trainee said male even had to do sexual favors) that dark side but people don't want to see it. Scandals about that already happended (the actress who commit suicide because her manager was selling her off to get her roles or just to make money, Open world entertainment, ...) Of course, I think it's true. Producing a group cost so much money. And why would a broadcast station, a show or a magazine would cast a nugu group or a a nugu member? They have power, why not use it? (I'm not saying it happens within every compagny or show, ... but let's be real)

LOL Many pretending to be Dojoon's wife and agreeing with him they wouldn't allow their kids to join Kpop! Dojoon is widely known even to us foreigners as Korea's "National BF" and I guess one of the "dark" aspects about being a Kpop idol he's talking about is that many women would claim to be his wife and the mother of his children LOL!

You are so naive to think it's about women. It's more about hard work until you collapse, zero private life, people (both "fans" and reporters) follow you to everywhere (even to the toilet), sometimes battle with your own company and battle with people who talk s*it about you, and in many cases sex favors happen, too. That's the dark side he talks about...!

LOL I was joking. Cool it please.

I think if they are destine to become an idol you cant stop... in some humans just have a gene that makes them kinda different ... in a very good way ...I wish performers get better pay

they do get better pay but i wish they were respected more of privacy issues and personal lives and filled with good vibes rather than dark ones
