ILLIT released a special webtoon.
On August 4, HYBE announced, "The new webtoon 'Summer Moon: The Quprids' will be released on 10 PM," ahead of the webtoon's publication.
'Summer Moon: The Quprids' tells a story of high school girls who grow and transform into "Magical girls," and is connected to ILLIT's musical universe. The members are each assigned to one of the magical girls. Through various events, they come to realize the meaning that "true magical power is found when you accept yourself."
In ILLIT's 3rd mini-album 'Bomb,' the members transform into magical girls just like the webtoon. Even in the album's brand film, the group shares the message, "Remember, the magic is within you."
The group's concept is carried over into 'Summer Moon: The Quprids,' with characters inspired by ILLIT members.
In light of the webtoon's release, there is an ongoing offline event. From 5 PM on August 4 to the 17th, paper doll dress-up templates are being provided at 420 Daiso stores nationwide and 10 Artbox locations.
A representative shared, "'Summer Moon' is an original story that aligns with ILLIT's message and will offer GLLITs (ILLIT's fandom) with a new source of enjoyment."
Meanwhile, ILLIT is currently on their first fan concert tour, 'GLITTER DAY' that kicked off in Seoul in June. The girls are now set to hold their Japan leg of the tour in Yokohama from August 10 to 11, and in Osaka from September 3 to 4.
