Cross Gene fans are furious at their label selling Cross Gene out as 'hosts'

Cross Gene fans are up in arms on how the boys are being treated.

On the 27th, the boys' label uploaded a notice about a fanmeeting in Korea that was strangely only for the boys' Japanese fans. However, the real problem was with the contents of the fanmeeting. The fanmeeting allowed for fans to choose an item from a 'menu' of sorts, which included some rather personal things such backhugs, a back rub, a head stroking, and more.

Fans were furious when they saw this, and started trending in defense of Cross Gene, pointing out that Cross Gene were idols and singers, not some sort of hosts who had to sell services. Fans are using the hashtags #크로스진_성상품화 ('Commercialization of sex of Cross Gene') and #크로스진은_가수입니다 ('Cross Gene are singers') on Twitter to spread news of the injustice.

What do you think of the situation?

I dont know the situation... But this totally depends on the situation... If Cross Gene said they wanted to do this because they want the fans to come its ok. If the Company just did it and then later told them BTW you are going to this and that to your fans, then its wrong... Just look at the gorilla dates, where stars like Lee Minho give backhug, SNSD gives handshakes etc. Its nothing new. It just depends if the idols want it and agree themself, because if they do then no problem. Its not like give the fans a kiss.

Giving a back hug or a handshake to one lucky fan is not the same as selling physical contact like a host... fanmeets are events for you to talk with them for a little time and take some photos or something, but this... this is like having them like your servers(??) "give me a hug now" "massage me"... that is not what fan events should be like... We are supposed to love and support them but most importantly, RESPECT them! Making them act like hosts is just degrading

I do understand what you are saying but again, if the members said they wanted to do it then its ok because its a chosen fan service... But if the company chose it then told them they are gonna do it then its wrong.

The thing is that there is no way to confirm if they wanted to do this or if the company is forcing them, so it is better to not do something that can cause controversy and stop this if there is a possibility that they are forced to do this

actually, those of us who have been to fanmeets already know that Cross Gene never had a choice in how they were permitted to interact with their fans before... boys aren't even allowed public SNS accounts.. One of the members has a guy standing over him at every fanmeet so he doesn't talk too long. It's all well and good for people to want to take the broad view here, but they're just as aware that they know more about their groups than outsiders and should probably for once accept that other fandoms know what they're talking about with their own groups too.

iisstf28 966769 Monday, January 30, 2017

Was that for me? Because Im defending their fans here

OppaBean Sunday, January 29, 2017

That's gross. Their label is legally pimping them out. U get pics and autographs only. Anything physical is another type of business. Not right.

federick Sunday, January 29, 2017

bye... see you in Korea 😉

PinkCan federick Sunday, January 29, 2017

They -are- in Korea though

iisstf28 federick Sunday, January 29, 2017

Thankfully this was cancelled, there are actually people who would go to this shit even tho they know how fucked up this is...

rapmonie Sunday, January 29, 2017

idk whats de problem ???

PinkCan rapmonie Sunday, January 29, 2017

Forcing idols to massage people they don't want to? That's a problem... has been resolved now though

iisstf28 rapmonie Sunday, January 29, 2017

You don't see the problem acting like hosts?? Like servers?? It is not like fanmeets where you get to talk with your idols for a while and shake hands or something, you are basically ordering them around to give you physical affection... "Massage me!" "Hug me now!" "I paid for this so do it already!" Acting like host is not okay... it is fucking degrading for idols... Nu'est had to do this type of shit in Japan and fans were really fucking mean (not all of course), they got mad when they didn't act like they loved to hug and kiss strangers for money...

ukissloveskissme Sunday, January 29, 2017

I don't know what grosses me more, Amuse once attempting this or people who think this is okay

CROSSGENE4LYF Sunday, January 29, 2017

ANYWAYS. Ya'll AKP is late and this writer doesn't have the decency to update the article even... lol Amuse has removed it thanks to our protests. Carry on biting your nails as CROSS GENE continue teasing for the comeback of the century with "Black or White" ^_^

CROSSGENE4LYF Sunday, January 29, 2017

Some people are just dumb inside and out. XD Bless my fandom.

sandybee3 Sunday, January 29, 2017

Is this not the type of fan service a lot of Idols give to their fans? Especially on Concerts they do such things.. and i think that these Fan Services are not really crossing the line to a point were I would shout sexual harassment! It's questionable but I wouldn't go that far .. The boys might have been ask were their Limits are maybe not but we never really know to which point it's only the companies decision or the boys decision as well

CROSSGENE4LYF sandybee3 Sunday, January 29, 2017

I'm sure you'd love it if you had to massage people against your will

iisstf28 sandybee3 Sunday, January 29, 2017

Normal fanservice and acting like a host is completly... hugging a fan in a concert when she luckily got to be on stage is not the same as serving physical contact like that... it is just degrading...

966769 sandybee3 Sunday, January 29, 2017

The fact we, those of us that have been to Cross Gene fanmeets and concerts, are the ones protesting this, should very clearly indicate that this is not normal and perhaps you missed something in the reading..

sandybee3 CROSSGENE4LYF Monday, January 30, 2017

It's not always clear if it's always against their will .. you know sometimes Idols accept or do things in order to get more profit from it even if fans want to believe it or not ..

uglypledistrash Sunday, January 29, 2017

this isn't the first time this has happened to an idol; and it makes me furious to see how some smaller comppnies treat their groups.

Phemys uglypledistrash Sunday, January 29, 2017

It's really sad because their company isn't even a small company... one of the biggest in Japan actually... T.T

Winston Sunday, January 29, 2017
