'Radio Star's Producer Hwang Kyo Jin sat down with OSEN for an interview about the show, which will be broadcasting its 500th episode this November 9.

The PD laid out the roles of each of the 4 MCs currently heading the show and had both praise and gratitude to express toward the maknae MC, Super Junior's Kyuhyun. About Kyuhyun's role, the PD said it was "youth" because she thought without Kyuhyun, the show seemed "old."

She then said, "Kyuhyun spent his 20s on 'Radio Star'. The fact that he's in his 20s, looking for an in amidst hyungs in their 40s, is a difficulty. On our show, there's almost no instance when the audio gets cut off. But he adds his own quick reflexes to it, which is really difficult. He's doing a great job with it, which I feel proud and grateful for. He even has 'poisonous comments' his hyungs can't think of. He's an idol so there are boundaries he must keep, but he puts that aside for the show."

"He's been through a near death experience before (referring to his car accident), and he mentions this on the 500th episode. Before he came on the show, he said he used to stay in his dorm by himself all the time. On top of that, he said he waited for his chance at fame for a very long time. He's endured that time well... Recently in a survey asking 'Which star is 'Radio Star's most successful child?' and it was meant for the guests over the years, but Kyuhyun was chosen as #1. That hit me. Now, he does great anywhere he goes," she continued fondly.

Finally, when asked about potential replacements up for discussion once Kyuhyun enlists in the military next year, the PD relayed, "We think when Kyuhyun leaves, someone who has a fateful connection may come aboard. We are not thinking of anyone in advance. It doesn't seem right toward Kyuhyun. He seemed to be thinking about it though."

Lol heechul or eunhyuk when he comes back

If it's not a SJ member, I would say Seunghoon because he's witty and a good MC, but the problem is that he doesn't know anyone in the cast and has nearly no connection among celebrities.

The only SuJu members who can sit on that chair are Shindong, Heechul, and Kangin. Heechul already has shows and Kangin is on hiatus. It would be nice to see Shindong there although I think there would already be projects lined up for him since he's a really good MC...

i dont want more SJ members on this show. stupid kpop fans cant handle the format of this show so they always end up hating on Kyuhyun just because he is an SJ´s member and SJ is definitely the punching bag of international kpop fans if you guys don´t know (like who cares about the others MCs lets all hate the SJ´s member because their are he only problematic group and by the way my faves are angels. they may have get drugs/said or did something racist/sexist/have been rude, etc but pls forgive them because is their culture/it´s an mistake/oppa didn´t want to said that/do that, please dont bring back old mistakes they already change/etc (any idiot excuse) but Super Junior they are monsters there is no forgiveness for them so lets remind everyone else what they did 47890 years ago just to make my faves looks better /rolleyes/)

Super Junior perseveres, survives, and still goes strong despite scandals, tragedies, and hardships. For a group that was created to be replaceable, the actually managed to carve their name as on of Korean entertainment's greatest success stories. Haters can talk about their failures but real fans can also see not just mistakes, but improvements and the tenacity of these 11 men. I personally would want a SuJu member to replace Kyu. They earned their stripes and they can take the heat.

I agree with your comment 100%

Heechul is the perfect replacement, but he's super busy now a days. I don't know if he'd be able to take on another show.

I have two suggestions. Heechul or Shindong. Both of them were on the show before Kyuhyun, Heechul has proven himself to be a great MC with Knowing Bros and Weekly Idol, and Shindong is back from military service next month. Hopefully they do get a SuJu member in in his place.

Heechul already has two shows. Shindong would be nice but given the fact that he is actually a really good MC and DJ, I think projects are already lined up for him next year.

Whatever it is, for someone who has zero experience as mc when he start as cast of Radio Star back in 2011, Kyuhyun is doing the best for Radio Star for five years. It wasn't easy for him with 3 sunbaes who has far experience than him and has 19-20 years age gap, his presents in RS in acknowledgeable.

Heechul. When Kyuhyun enlist, I think it's rightful to give back his place now to Heechul.
