Shortly after the airing of the final episode of 'Survival: Search for Momoland', Duble Kick Company has released an official statement relaying their decision to push back the girl group's debut.

The label stated:

"As shown on broadcast, the 'Momoland' members held their final stage this past September 3, and performed two songs which will be included in the 'Momoland' group's debut album. Unfortunately, the 10 Duble Kick Company trainees failed their final mission of 'Draw 3,000 people for a crowd'. During the performance, approximately 2,300 people gathered, but the debut goal of 3,000 people was not reached.

If the trainees had achieved their debut goal, we had planned to debut them right away, but because they failed the final mission, Hyebin, Jooyi, NancyAhin, Yeonwoo, Nayoon, and Jane will push back their debut for a little while and embark on new challenges to show everyone a better side.

The 'Momoland' girls now have a new task ahead of them. They will attempt to debut again through a variety of experiences and skill acquisitions. In order to do so, where ever the 'Momoland' girls are sought out, they will go and meet you, and we will also do our best to invite you to 'Momoland'."

The other trainees who unfortunately did not earn a place in the girl group will return to being trainees under Duble Kick Company.

This show is honestly stupid, not only did it flop but their blaming the flop on their trainees. Yes the trainees aren't that good to begin with but c'mon Duble kick what are you doing

just ridiculous.. is debuting some kind of game? it's someone's lifetime dream and they drop it suddenly because of some bet? but in the other hand, it will help the girl' prepare more for a better debut so good luck girls!

JessicaJungLove boicemusic94 Monday, September 19, 2016

well, if they're not profitable, then there's no point on debuting them, i'm pretty sure that's the company's mentality.

hatemachine Saturday, September 17, 2016

Wait, this show ended already? I thought it hasn't even started yet. Literally no media coverage.

Kimiko_Leo Saturday, September 17, 2016

Never heard of them..but damn the company is savage :p

JungkookxYonghwa Saturday, September 17, 2016

They're totally making it sound like a punishment, wtf

mydeerlikesbacon Friday, September 16, 2016

Or are you sure they're not just pushing it back to next year because they know they can't match up to Black Pink or IOI in terms of popularity for best female rookie

FriedChickenLove mydeerlikesbacon Saturday, September 17, 2016

In all honesty if that is the case it's smart on the companies end. With the extreme popularity of Black Pink ad IOI wait a little longer so they won't get lost in the shuffle.

mydeerlikesbacon FriedChickenLove Saturday, September 17, 2016

Agree! They know how survival shows work, and even though Momoland doesn't match up to Produce 101's popularity as another survival show, they're sure to have picked up a few fans just because it is a survival show. They may have higher chances next year as best female rookie just for that reason, because up till now there aren't plans of another power female rookie to debut next year. Tbh given the popularity of those two groups already any company wishing to debut a new girl group and win best rookie is actually, no offense, stupid.

soomizoomzoom mydeerlikesbacon Saturday, September 17, 2016

Actually, Pledis (definitely) and Fantagio (maybe) are debuting girl groups next year.

mydeerlikesbacon soomizoomzoom Sunday, September 18, 2016

But both groups' success aren't guaranteed until they actually make a debut.

soomizoomzoom mydeerlikesbacon Monday, September 19, 2016

Yeah, that's true. I hope I'm not offending you or anything, but I'm just saying that they have a lot of fans already and that might play a part in their possible success. I've seen that happen many times :/ and I'm not sure what Fantagio is doing, but the Pledis Girlz seem to be doing quite well in their pre-debut. But we'll see...

mydeerlikesbacon soomizoomzoom Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Nah it's okay, your points are valid. It may play a part because after all Pledis Girlz has been doing a lot of promotions already, in addition to several Produce 101 contestants so I think that may boost their popularity, but as you know you can never trust the Korean audience for this. They may be the most talented people in the world but if the Korean audience doesn't like them they're pretty much screwed over. After all, if everybody's debuting next year it's gonna be survival of the fittest. I don't wish to be mean but imo if both companies don't screw their groups up I don't think even momoland stands a chance
