It seems like G.Soul is another artist who was criticized by J.Y. Park for not using the infamous 'half air' technique.

On the August 16th airing of 'Cultwo Show', G.Soul said, "I was honorably able to sing a duet with J.Y. Park at the 'JYP Nation' concert. It was even better because I got to sing 'I Have A Girl', which is one of my favorite."

G.Soul then jokingly added, "But J.Y. Park sajangnim told me that I lack air when I sing. I think I'll need to sing with an air tank on me from now."

He should share with all the JYP Entertainment artists!

The half-air technique is shit. I'm sorry, but JYP... you need to understand that the there's a reason you only have two, MAYBE three, actually good singers in your company.

InvisibleBBC02 Tuesday, August 16, 2016

And spoiler alert: Those good singers don't use your damn air technique.

Actually 2PM Jun.K used it in masked singer and got praised by the judge audience for it. It's not really a technique too. It's just a way to pronounce a note.

Most judges on shows like this always choose vocal color/tone over good technique. Just saying.

And that is a negative because???

Actually one of the judges pointed out Jun.K excels in various singing techniques with the addition of the half air pronounce he did on the last part that suits the song's feel. So yeah, you're saying?

HolyGrailz Tuesday, August 16, 2016

I'm glad he doesn't do it. All of JYP singers start to sound the same using that. G Soul sounds different from them.

hiroonakamura Tuesday, August 16, 2016

i am still waiting for his breakthrough ever since JYP proclaimed that had he stayed in Korea instead of going to the US, he would've been a superstar by now

HolyGrailz hiroonakamura Tuesday, August 16, 2016

You mean America. He was in America for years.

He was already a superstar though before he was the CEO in JYP. He made a huge name back in the 90's with his hit songs like Honey, Elevator etc.

Oh you are talking about JYP himself. I thought you meant G Soul.

ilikeJB HolyGrailz Wednesday, August 17, 2016

LOL sorry I thought we were talking about JYP. But G.Soul was actually doing pretty good in America when he built good connection with a couple of artists there. The economy train hit like rack and JYP's focus on Wonder Girls at the time didn't help as well so they pull back G.Soul, Min and Yerin from US.

JYP trying to ruin his already perfect voice. Not everyone sounds good with this "half air, half sound" ridiculousness lol.

Jun.K sounds pretty good though with that method. He got praised using this method in masked singer.

cnbluex3 Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Guys JYP probably meant that because they were singing his song, since a lot of his songs are like that

nymeria24 Tuesday, August 16, 2016

He sing perfect already

123PoP Tuesday, August 16, 2016

JYP needs to stip forcing this technique on his artist. There are defensively better and more ways to singing

ilikeJB 123PoP Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Their artist already found ways to record without using the method. Rice cakes before recording and they are all good. LOL

Pretty sure G.Soul is a better vocalist than JYP. The half-air technique works for some people but doesn't work for all vocalists. Most of the time, it ends up ruining their voices and makes them sound terrible. JYP shouldn't try to force his technique on all his vocalists. It's a bit annoying, to be honest.

micahxo_lu Tuesday, August 16, 2016

No, no. His voice is amazing, don't ruin it with that technique.

His heavenly voice doesn´t require such Gimmicks.
