Sam Kim recently opened up about his hiatus and his struggles in creating music.
On the June 20 episode of KBS2TV’s 'The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile' (Episode 15), singer Sam Kim appeared and shared a special connection he has with Park Bo Gum. It was revealed that the two first met in 2020 while working on Park Bo Gum’s fan song “All My Love”, which was released before his military enlistment.
Park Bo Gum warmly greeted Sam Kim, saying, “I missed you so much. You were one of the guests I really hoped to invite when I started ‘Cantabile.’”
Making his first music show appearance in four years, Sam Kim opened up about his hiatus. Sam Kim shared, “Because I love music so much, I started to want more from myself and got overly ambitious. That eventually led to burnout.” He continued, “Now, I feel like my relationship with music has improved a bit, so I’m trying to start again.”

Sam Kim also shared a behind-the-scenes story of their first meeting. He revealed, “Hyung (Park Bo Gum) came all the way to our company to talk with me. He even played a song he was composing at the time.” He expressed his admiration for Park Bo Gum’s sincerity.
When Sam Kim asked, “Do you still compose music these days?”, Park Bo Gum responded with a smile, “Lately, I’ve been enjoying listening to other people’s music more.”
