A professional laundry service is pursuing legal action against PocketDol Studio, presided by head producer Kim Kwang Soo, over approximately 12 million KRW (~ $9,000 USD) in unpaid laundry fees.
According to Kim, the owner of a professional laundry service which has primarily serves K-Pop agencies, his company has not received any payment for laundry services provided for a 10-member boy group at PocketDol Studio for the past 2-years. The laundry service has worked with the 10-member boy group since their debut days, providing outfit cleaning for nearly every schedule, all without payment.
Kim explained, "If we say that we want to stop cleaning for them, then the styling team that we work with cannot work with the idol group either, and we'll both be out of work." The laundry service owner further claimed that several other businesses which worked with the idol group, including the styling team, the stage outfit creation team, and the alteration team, have not been paid for their services either.
When Kim took the case to court, PocketDol Studio finally responded by paying just a little less than half of the due amount, 5 million KRW.
To JTBC reporters inquiring about the case, a representative of PocketDol Studio relayed, "We will pay the due amount right away. We were finally able to conslidate our balances."
Meanwhile, PocketDol Studio is home to artists such as BAE173 and Fantasy Boys.
