Jessica, who made her exit from Girls' Generation in 2014, answered a few questions about her thoughts on girl groups in a recent interview with TV Report.

The interviewer asked, "As a solo artist who was once a member of top girl group Girls' Generation, what do you think of the rookie group IOI?" Jessica responded, "If later on, my daughter wants to be in a girl group, then I think I am going to oppose."

She continued, "It's hard becoming a member of a girl group among so many competitors. You have to have luck and also need to work hard. I was in Girls' Generation because of luck, and fortunately, Girls' Generation received a lot of love." Jessica once again emphasized her previous response, concluding, "I would want to help my daughter walk a different career path."

What do you think of Jessica' comments about girl groups?

Understandable. Yoo Jae Suk said the same thing about his kid becoming a comedian.. the kpop entertainment industry (or just entertainment in general) is a very hard path to pursue and succeed in.

Well given the crap that women have to endure as Kpop idols after all that suffering in their trainee days, it's great that she will protect her future daughter(s) this way (I hope Krystal has the same mindset too). And also, what's with the ice princess attitude that SM gave her? Jessica actually seems like a really nice person.

I know being a girl group member is not easy nor being in any kind of kpop group, but no life is easy, I still think being in a kpop group is somewhat being in a privileged position in life, being able to follow your real dreams is something not everyone can afford.

We love our idols for all that they do, but we know the job is ridiculously hard and sucks a lot of the time

Taeyeon also said the same... I get sad and worried when they say those things.I mean, those two belong and belonged to the most sucessful kpop girlgroup in Korea and worldwide, and they still don't think that's a nice future to their daughters... Imagine how smaller groups must feel and how hard this industry must be.

I agree. But it's still a mothers decision for her child. The child might think of the mother's comment as bad and go her own path...which is what I did. Followed my dreams, but I though about my future too and listened to my mom's advice.

She has the same thought with Taeyeon too. Taeyeon doesnt want to give her voice to her future childrens bc she doesnt want them to become singer.

She surely knows what she's talking about!
