MBC stated on the 29th, "Singer Kim Jin Pyo has decided to voluntarily leave 'Dad, Where Are You Going?'."

An MBC rep stated, "Although he worked hard, he felt that he doesn't fit well with the program, revealing his reason for wanting to leave and the staff decided to respect his wishes after much discussion."

Kim Jin Pyo stated through MBC, "I am sorry and regretful that I am unable to stay until the end and I am thankful that I was able to learn a lot from my relationship with my child during the past five trips. More than anything else, I am thankful and sorry to the staff and five fathers who believed in me when I was going through a difficult time."

From the start Kim Jin Pyo's casting had been a controversial one has he was criticized in the past for his remarks that utilized terminology from the extremist online community ilbe in his song as well as on 'Top Gear Korea'. Although he started to win back the public's love with his diligence on 'Dad Where Are You Going', it seemed his daughter had a hard time adjusting and overcoming her shy personality. These factors may have attributed to his decision to ultimately leave the show.

Kim Jin Pyo and Kim Kyu Won will appear on their final broadcast on the 'family special' on April 6.

I think the main reason why he left the program is for his daughter. Gyu Won couldn't adjust well with the other kids in the show and I felt that too often she was left alone. She is a young and quite timid and forcing her to be on a show that will get a lot of attention will just make it worse so I'm glad his dad made this decision for his daughter.

I think its a good decision. Kyu Won is too young and couldnt do any of the missions alone like the other kids on the show. ;

I really liked GyuWon, she was a really cute girl. I understand their concern about her age but if it is the real reason why they are leaving they should have thought about it earlier. I don't mean to sound harsh but her age is not something they could have changed after some episodes had passed, if that is the reason they shouldn't have accepted the offer or he could have come with his son. I think it is a shame for her to leave because as we saw when she was alone, with her brother and now with Hoo she was a very lively child, she liked to play around and has a lot of aegyo. I think with some time she would have been able to overcome her shyness, since she is so young it is to be expected that she would take more time than the others to open her heart. ;

I will surely miss her on the show...

I'm sad he's leaving because he has been a good source of entertainment on DWAYG but i'm also glad that he's thinking about his daughter and how her shyness is hindering her making relationships with the other kids, which is really important when they'll be spending so much time together.

the different between DWAYG s1 and s2 is, ;in season one, we saw innocent kids grow and learn with their fathers while in season two, it just seems like a bunch of kids doing a TV show with their dads. In season one the kids didn't understand or paying attention at camera, they just play around naturally. while in season 2 there's some kid who understand about camera, and act cute in front of camera. one of them is Ryu jin's son Lim chan hyung.

I don't want to be mean of course but thank god. I didn't like them from the beginning and the fact that she is so shy and does not want to speak at all is more of a reason as to why she shouldn't be on the show. The first season was truly the best. The kids were such a good group and the fathers as well. ;

I felt they weren't right for the show since the beginning and throughout. Even while watching last week's episode I felt this. Gyu won, as cute as she is, is still too young and shy. She doesn't want to participate in any activities, so what's the point? This was a good decision. ;

I think it is a good and reasonable decision! I followed ;the show and his daughter does not fit to be in the show in her age...hope she grows up well in the future!

yeah she's what 3 in Korean age? I think she's a little bit too young for a show like DWAYG, maybe she would've been better in Superman is back.

i really like gyuwon.... she's really cute. but it's true that she's so shy. hmm.... i wish that if there will be the next seasons, gyuwon will comeback when she's older.
