Hyerim, former member of Wonder Girls, has recently obtained a certification as an English storytelling instructor.
On August 14, Hyerim shared the news on her social media, writing, “I’ve earned my English storytelling instructor certification!” along with several photos showing her certificate and award neatly displayed. The images also captured Hyerim’s bright smile as she celebrated her achievement.
“I started studying because I wanted to make my time with Siwoo and Sian more beautiful and meaningful, and I’m really glad I did,” Hyerim said. She added, “I’m still a mom who has much to learn, but I will dedicate myself to helping more children smile through English storytelling.”
Hyerim joined Wonder Girls in 2010 and has since built a family with Taekwondo athlete Shin Min Chul, with whom she has two sons. She welcomed her first son, Siwoo, in February 2022, and announced her second pregnancy in June of last year, giving birth to a healthy baby boy in December.
A graduate of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with a degree in Chinese Diplomacy and Commerce, Hyerim is fluent in both English and Chinese. She currently hosts an English radio show on KBS and actively participates in translating foreign books and volunteering at kindergartens, further applying her skills to English storytelling.
