On the February 20th broadcast of KBS 2TV's 'Vitamin', SISTAR's Hyorin revealed an interesting vocal technique.
When asked how she maintains her trademark husky voice, Hyorin shared, "I talk in a low voice. Because my family's vocal chords are generally weak, if we get together and talk, we get hoarse easily. Because it's something I'm born with, I pay attention to taking care of my voice."
She continued to say that she purposefully lowers her voice before going on stage. "If I'm not feeling well, you can immediately tell by my voice. Before I go on stage, I talk to release my throat or else it closes up. So I talk in a low pitched voice to bring the least stress to my vocal chords."
Bora added, "As long as I don't catch a bad cold, I have a naturally high tone. My voice is the opposite of Hyorin's, and I think that's the secret to our success."
