The official explanation for the departure by the producers of Star Golden Bell was that Kim had been a host for too long. This seemed strange to TV industry insiders, who were further baffled by the choice of Ji Suk Jin, who last appeared on the show only 6 months earlier. The buzz is that there was quite a rush put into in finding a new MC and that many were wary to take the position after the controversial departure of Kim Jae Dong. In the end, Ji Suk Jin, who had retained close ties with the show, was chosen as the "new" MC. With his familarity of Star Golden Bell over the years, Ji Suk Jin looks to be the best choice. But if given a choice, I am sure he wouldn't want to return to the show in this manner.
