According to an exclusive report by OSEN on February 10, former IOI members Choi Yoo Jung and Kim Do Yeon, currently trainees under Fantagio, plan on studying abroad in the U.S.

The report stated that the two trainees will be heading out to the U.S. to train as a part of a high-scale debut project under Fantagio. One insider said, "Choi Yoo Jung and Kim Do Yeon have been preparing to study abroad in the U.S. since July of last year, even during their IOI promotions, as a part of Fantagio's girl group debut project."

A representative of Fantagio addressed the report with, "It's true that they've been preparing studying abroad in the U.S. for a while. We are careful to open up further about the topic, because we are still adjusting schedules in Korea according to current situations."

Supposedly, Choi Yoo Jung and Kim Do Yeon will be attending an academy for training singers and dancers in the U.S, while also improving their English language skills. Netizens commented, "Are they going to be filming them studying overseas? Or are they just leaving to study abroad...", "That's a lot of investing...", "What about other trainees? Will it just be those two?", "Such an unexpected move", and more.

Stay tuned for updates!

damn, these girls will be in so much debt to fantagio when they come back that even if their girl group ends up being a big hit, they wont make much money after 5-6 years later

Study abroad for ... school lol. Talking about specifics, for music (dance and singing), education, a study abroad show, possibilities are endless.

That "ban" is only for seven countries, and as far as I'm concerned, South Korea is not one of them.

In my defense, I half knew and half didn't know that it was a joke. Sorry.

Korean idols always travel to the US. I understand that there's a lot of opportunities in that country, and that South Korea and the US has a lot of history over the last decades, but wouldn't the idols be interested in exploring other parts of the world too when studying abroad?

I'll assure you one thing, their popularity is going to drop once they leave for America. There are hundreds of kids who can replace them in an instant debuting every day. Don't be greedy when you already have something good

This is such a big news. Truly, if this works out, they'll be even more than they were before. Praying for their success.

did the agency not learn from JYP's mistake with the wonder girls? that was a prime example for all agencies as to why you shouldn't send your idols to the U.S. For wonder girls they were already well known and at the top of their game when they left, these girls just debuted. if they leave they'll definitely be forgotten and be replaced by newer trending girls.

It's not to "promote" or trying to "make it" in the US. They're only there for 2 weeks-1 month, and Fantagio is doing it to give them a break from their hectic schedule in Korea. They're going to spend some time in the US with Timberland, Pitbull, BOB, Mac Miller, the Jackson family vocal trainer! It's completely different than the WG's situation. I highly doubt they'll be forgotten in 2 weeks.

So, its a workshop then. Seeing as how they all improved over the course of 4 months of training in P101, an intense month of training with notable trainers will do them some good. I was never a fan of IOI but I think you all should try being a little more supportive. The company wouldn't invest into something if they didn't have a plan laid out. I'm guessing iTEENS (the name of the 7 trainees they had before P101) will be debuting this year then. Getting trained and being in a new place is probably exciting for the girls. Wish them the best.
