'SNL Korea 8' will be coming to end on December 24th.

There was a report that the show would be ending early because of recent controversies. However, the staff denied this was true, and that December 24th had been planned to be the last episode long before the controversies.

'SNL Korea' said, "Singer Hwang Chi Yeol will be 'SNL Korea 8's last host. The last day is December 24th. We will take the viewers' sharp criticism humbly, use the support as our fertilizer and come back with a new season."

How about this. The SNL FEMALE PERPS of 'male crotch invasion' are placed on a 'WATER DUNK CHAIR.' And the 'victimized' MALES get to throw a baseball at a *photo* of them. And IF they hit the *photo* in the *crotch* area, then SNL female gets WATER DUNKED right on TV !!! ... :-) ... I see HIGH TV RATINGS out of this!

What has made SNL a successful comedy show for 41 years is that it wasn't afraid to touch on controversy and to unflinchingly comment on current events, people, and issues through comedy. Understandably, each culture is different in their tolerance level for satire, but what is the point of importing a distinct brand like SNL and basically castrating it? Fear of "offending" someone is basically poison to comedy. SNL Korea was supposed to standout from other Korean comedy shows by virtue of its link and supposed adoption of the same comedy formula that has been so successful for its American parent show. And the sexual harassment issue is simple. Fire the perpetrators. Why do the rest of the cast and crew have to suffer from the despicable actions of a few?

I tend to agree with you. But also, the 'victims' in this, did NOT complain to POLICE about what happened. Which, SNL could ASK them how they feel about anyone from SNL getting FIRED over it. You could do it PRIVATELY, and see what they say. MAYBE an APOLOGY is enough for the 'victims' of it. It is NOT like some kind of FEMALE on MALE *RAPE* incident. I realize that I will take some 'heat' on this viewpoint. But, those involved seemed NOT as though they were consciously FORCING something that they KNEW that the MALES were going to feel *negative* over it. Quite the contrary. In fact, I am CURIOUS as to how MANY of the MALES involved derived a certain level of enjoyment out of it. I will GUESS that this would NOT be ZERO of them! Finally, what was done, this GROPING, was a BAD IDEA. NOT disputing that at all. It just seems like EVERYONE is looking to 'POUND THE FEMALE PERPS' in a situation where this is NOT as 'bad' as some make it out to be. Okay, ready to 'duck' the arrows now here! ... ;-)

Far more men engage in (and get away with) sexually harassing females. I have no tolerance for scum who think they can lay hands on females in an inappropriate or outright sexual way without explicit consent. But to be consistent and fair, you have to apply the same to the relatively few instances where the roles are reversed. Whether the alleged victims consider it sexual harassment or not isn't the point. It is the act and behavior itself that is not appropriate and criminal.

I follow your logic. However, I vote for some 'slack cutting' in this SNL TV situation. Even now, I believe that ZERO of them (male 'victims') are filing a FORMAL POLICE complaint. Hmmm ... NOT wishing to seem to support FORCED and UNWELCOME sexual situations.

http://www. apnewsarchive. com/1993/Investigators-Describe-Hazing-at-Marine-Base-as-Warped-/id-c9a757421b01be31855a5f4c28b9ee32 ... <-- Quoting --> "A Marine Corps training unit in Arizona engaged in excessive hazing for years, including a 1992 incident in which human waste was dumped on trainees and their genitals were burned with caustic shoe polish, investigators say." ... Which, (KR) SNL TV has a LONG way to go before even coming CLOSE to this USA MILITARY hazinig situation. Which went on repeatedly for years.

If the issue had stayed "in-house" then it may have been handled as you suggest. But once it goes public the broadcaster has to take action or the perception is that they condone the behavior. Once the oppaers screamed for blood, it was game over.

Military hazing and sexual harassment are not the same. I went through hazing in my military service... it was a right of passage that we expected and took pride in. Anyone who joins the military should know they will be hazed at some point, especially in their first year of service. What you describe is an aberration - the act of a few rogue NCOs with fucked up minds and too much power. It happens in every military service around the world. Look at S. Korea and Russia for the same. But sexual harassment is a totally different situation. When you accept a job in the civilian world, it doesn't mean accepting the sexual advances of coworkers or supervisors.

The show should stay but everyone who participated in the groping and the head of the show should be fired. Its no different than when a corporation or a politician gets in a scandal. Heads should roll.

Technically the program isnt at fault it self, the "molesting" case or touching the boy groups, is not related to the program's content, and is the fault of some of the casts, the nature of the program, i think with a new PD, and new cast, the show may return with a better ratings

Which, I am *not* so sure that SNL people deserve to be FIRED over this. MAYBE an apology is ENOUGH on it. NO QUESTION that this GROUPING was a BAD IDEA.
